Chapter 3 Register for Marriage
It was a man who was almost black and white. His skin was white, and his clothes and shoes were black.
Lily couldn't describe his appearance, because every part of his body seemed to be carefully polished and carved by the creator, exuding obsessive charm.
She couldn't tell what part of his body was beautiful, but it seemed that everything looked good.
Especially at this moment, when the setting sun in the sky was ruddy, he came at dusk. His dark and noble aura seemed to overwhelm the sky and the earth.
His eyes were dark and deep. Even his white fingertips were a little strange.
Lily was shocked by his beauty and aura.
Lily recalled carefully. There seemed to have no rumors about this character.
Who was he?
"Mrs. Betty escaped from marriage after hearing the bad rumors about you."
The man was emotionless. His voice was dulcet, "In three minutes, go to the side of the road and pick up a clean female creature."
Lily didn't say anything.
Female creature?
Cats and dogs?
What a casual man!
Lily stared at the man for a while, then she had an idea in her mind. She took a step forward, with a lazy smile on her face, "Sir, are you married?"
She waved the household registration book and the money prepared for registering for marriage, "It's my treat."
The man looked over. His eyes were as deep and clear as seawater. His gaze froze for a moment and his deep black eyes locked on her imperceptibly.
"What's your name?" He asked, his charming tone seeming to soften instinctively.
Lily smiled slightly, "Lily."
There seemed to be some strange look in the man's cold eyes, but it was so fleeting that it was hard to catch.
The assistant standing beside him looked up at Lily in surprise, with an unkind look in his eyes.
Lily?
Was she the idiot young lady of the Defoe family whose private life was so debauched that her fiancé regretted the marriage in public?
Such a notorious woman, who was abandoned by a man, dared to ask their young master to marry her. She did have no self-knowledge.
The assistant's expression was extremely displeased. Just as he opened his mouth to say something, the master seemed to sense it, and he glanced at him lightly.
The assistant felt a chill in his heart. He lowered his head and didn't say anything of disapproval.
The man stared intently at Lily, his eyes were seductive, with a touch of deep scrutiny in his eyes. His eyes were aggressive.
Lily thought he was weighing the pros and cons. She said confidently, "You need a wife, and I need a husband. It's a win-win situation for you to marry me. As long as we get the certificate, I will try my best to cooperate with you and help you. In the same way, when I need your help, you can't stand idly by."
At present, in her vision, she only needs a married status to use 20% of the shares.
But things were changeable, and there was no harm in being well-prepared.
The man seemed to be dissatisfied with her explanation. His eyes darkened slightly. He seemed to think of something in an instant, suppressed the displeasure, and said a few words from his seductive thin lips, "I'm Henry Swift."
Lily smiled brightly and said, "I remember it." She was so beautiful.
Henry stretched out his hand to her, "Let's go."
Knowing that the man agreed to her request, Lily put her snow-white little hand into the man's palm, and the two walked side by side into the Civil Affairs Bureau one minute before they got off work.
Half an hour later, Lily got her marriage certificate and got into her new husband's car.
It was a low-key luxury caravan.
Lily looked down at the two red certificates on her knees. She was a little surprised that she found a man so quickly to get the certificate.
Although it was planned, when she really became a married woman, this feeling was unreal.
She waited outside all afternoon, and her hands and feet were cold. She put away the marriage certificate, closed her eyes, and felt a little drowsy.
Henry looked at the face of his new wife. His eyes were deep but not indifferent.
Realizing that the man was staring at her, Lily forced herself to open her eyes. She said softly with a sleepy tone, "I have never slept with any man. I will clean up those messy scandals quickly, and I won't bring you any trouble"
She felt the sight of the man, and she thought that the man cared about her reputation.
After all, Lily had too many negative labels in Chicago. Almost everyone knew her.
Idiot, ugly, domineering, vicious, shamelessly pestering Mr. Whitman.
Especially when her fiancé ruined the wedding banquet, rumors about her being licentious and vicious spread throughout Chicago, and her reputation was extremely bad.
Henry's dark eyes were full of displeasure, but he didn't say anything. He took off the windbreaker and covered her. He said with a gentle tone, "Go to sleep."
Lily smiled and took the man's coat. The coat still had his body temperature, with a faint bewitching breath. She wrapped her slender body from head to toe without revealing any part, dispelling the cold in an instant.
She closed her eyes, lying on the sofa like a lazy cat, and soon fell into a dream.
The car drove into a low-key and luxurious castle.
Henry walked through with the girl in his arms, and the servants on the road were shocked to see this scene. They knew that Henry had never been close to women and came back with a woman in his arms.
But the people here were well-trained. Even if they were so shocked that they wanted to gossip immediately, none of them dared to make the slightest noise in front of Henry.
Henry carried Lily back to the bedroom, put her on the big bed, bent down to take off her shoes, covered her with the quilt, stared at the sleeping woman for a while, and then walked out quietly.
"Mr. Swift." The old butler was waiting outside the door. He had obviously heard the news of his marriage certificate, and his face was filled with joy. "What does Mrs. Swift like? I'll ask someone to prepare it right now."
A dark stream of light flashed across Henry's eyes.
In the car, he had already read all of Lily's past that his assistant investigated, and the information showed that this girl liked charming and coquettish things.
But when he saw her, she was dressed in snow-white, light, and elegant clothes. Sometimes, her smile was cold. Sometimes, her smile was warm. There was no trace of conformity with the information at all.
Seeing that he was silent, the old housekeeper said, "I asked them to clean up the surrounding rooms and make a cloakroom for Mrs. Swift. She is young. I will prepare all styles of clothes for her, including lively, cute, and simple styles. Mrs. Swift can pick out something she likes."
Henry's expression was unpredictable. He suddenly said, "Cyan."
The old butler was taken aback. He thought that Lily had told him she liked cyan. He immediately laughed and replied, "Okay, I'll go and ask someone to buy all the lotus-colored clothes in Chicago."
When Henry finished speaking, he seemed to be stunned for a moment, but there was no expression on his face. He stepped downstairs, "Prepare another study room."
The butler happily went to prepare it.
Henry sat down on the sofa in the hall. When the man sat silently, his aura was slightly restrained, his eyebrows and eyes were bright, and his whole person was exquisite and somewhat shocking.
He made a phone call.
A lazy and laughing voice came from the other side, "Congratulations, you finally got married. How about Mrs. Betty? I heard that she is a beauty. If you don't like her, please don't hurt her. Don't kill her, or I will I still have to find a way to destroy the corpse."
