Chapter 120
Cassian held the snake's head tight as he waded through the water, heading for the edge. Giving Sabrina a quick glance, he whispered, "Scream. Loudly."
She caught on fast. Her mouth opened without hesitation, and she let out a frightened, high-pitched scream.
By then, Cassian had already picked up a rock. With a dull thud, the snake's head was smashed into mush.
Sabrina's screaming drowned out all other sounds. While screaming, she kept her eyes on the direction of the curtain. Through the rising steam, she caught a glimpse of a shadow darting out.
Instinctively, she tried to chase after it, but Cassian grabbed her arm and held her back.
He shook his head. "Don't. There might be more snakes on him."
She noticed the sweat trickling down the bridge of his nose and felt something was off. "What's wrong with you?"
Cassian gave a small shake of his head and barely managed to say, "I'm fine," before his tall frame swayed unsteadily.
Sabrina yanked his hand over and immediately froze-his hand
