She didn't sleep well-looked like she was stuck in another nightmare. Her lashes trembled nonstop, like a butterfly trapped in a storm.
The food someone brought over sat untouched, already cold.
Cassian was just about to leave when Sabrina suddenly jerked awake, sitting up in shock.
Sweat was beading on her forehead. She wiped at it in a panic, her eyes glassy and unfocused.
Cassian turned back around, walked over, cupped her face gently and asked in a low voice, "Had a nightmare again?"
She looked up at him. Her head was still pounding, and she rubbed at her temples. "What did the doctor say? Why does it keep hurting?"
"You've been under too much stress-it's nerve tension headaches," Cassian said calmly. "He suggested you take it easy, stay emotionally stable. It'll pass soon."
But Sabrina wasn't totally buying it. "Just nervous headaches?"
She tried to read something in his expression, but Cassian was as unreadable as ever. Nothing gave him away.
