Cassian carried her all the way back to the bedroom. Sabrina glanced up at his sharp jawline, her arms looped awkwardly around his neck. This kind of closeness made her cheeks heat up, and she twisted a little in protest.
"I can walk on my own," she muttered, trying to break free.
But he just tightened his grip, holding her firmly in place.
As he headed straight for the bed, Sabrina's mind immediately jumped to all the worst scenarios, and her nerves kicked in.
"Put me down!" she shouted, starting to panic.
He didn't answer. Instead, he shifted his weight and brought them both down onto the bed in one smooth motion, his tall frame pinning her.
The proximity was suffocating. His slightly rough jaw even brushed the tip of her nose.
