Chapter 10
The voices of the agency staff were still ringing in his ears, but Darius could no longer hear them clearly.
His mind was buzzing, and his thoughts came to a sudden halt.
Euthanasia?
Why would Iris choose euthanasia?
Something must be wrong.
She must just be angry and deliberately teamed up with such an agency to deceive him.
Darius said this, but his hand holding the phone was trembling uncontrollably.
“Hello, Mr. Moore, are you still there?”
“Is this a lie? Did Iris send you to deceive me?”
Darius shouted, desperate for an answer that would ease his mind.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Moore, we regret to inform you of Miss Iris’s passing, but Miss Iris was in the late stages of cancer and contacted us herself.”
“When would you be available to come by?”
After an unknown amount of time, Darius finally said in a hoarse voice, “Right away.”
“Darius…”
Charlotte, standing beside him, didn’t know what had happened, but seeing his state, her tone carried a hint of concern.
