Chapter 156
Michael stepped into the kitchen and made a beeline for the fridge. One glance inside and-whoa-was it...empty? Like, scarily empty.
He let out a small sigh and gave Cassandra a helpless look before silently accepting the bleak breakfast reality.
"I-it's fine, really! You don't have to go to the trouble-I'm actually not hungry," Cassandra rushed over, waving her hands, trying to stop him.
Michael shot her a look, not buying it for a second. "Not being hungry doesn't mean it's okay to skip meals."
Well dang, Cassandra had nothing to say to that. He got her, and he knew it.
No pasta, no eggs-Michael originally wanted to whip up some hot pasta for her, but with an empty fridge, that plan went down the drain.
All he found were a few slices of bread and some milk. After checking the expiration dates, he grabbed them and headed to the counter. Not much, but at least it was something.
