Chapter 98
By the time Cassandra and Michael got to the restaurant, they were already shown into a private room. Michael, surprisingly gentleman-like, pulled out a chair for her. Cassandra stared at him, practically in disbelief.
Since when did Michael do stuff like that? Wasn't he famous for being cold and keeping girls at arm's length?
Seeing her just standing there, staring at the chair, Michael narrowed his eyes and asked, "What? You think the chair's got nails or something?"
"Uh?" His low, magnetic voice snapped her out of it completely. Cassie quickly ducked her head out of awkwardness. "N-no. Thanks, Michael."
Michael lifted an eyebrow slightly, then sat down across from her. After they ordered food and the waiter left, Cassandra finally mustered the courage to speak. "Michael, could you maybe let that project go back to Tate Corp.?"
Her dad had assigned her that project, and if she couldn't get it back, he'd have a dozen excuses ready to dilute her shares. But she wasn't exactly close to
