Chapter 213 How Could He Be Connected to the Rangvar Military District
Annie had no intention of just sitting there and waiting for the worst to happen.
Whether it was Sean or that man called Dingo, neither of them had a shred of mercy.
Supporting her weak, heavy body, Annie braced one hand against the wall and inched toward the door. She pressed her ear to the wooden panel, trying to make out what was happening outside.
She couldn't understand a single word, but she could tell that someone was posted right outside. She steadied her breathing and reached up, cautiously testing the doorknob.
It was locked from the outside.
Nevertheless, she didn't give up. She lifted her hand and tapped lightly.
The voices outside cut off at once.
A moment later, heavy footsteps approached and stopped right at the door.
With a sharp rattle, the cover over the small viewing slot was yanked open, revealing a pair of vicious eyes.
Annie instinctively stepped back.
Seeing that she was awake, the man's frown deepened. He barked at her in broken Elyrian, "What is it?"
