At the Shaw villa, Celeste drove back as usual, planning to reverse into the garage-only to find a white sedan parked right across the entrance, blocking the way completely.
Lance Cooper, the driver, was trimming the bushes in the yard. Celeste casually asked, "Lance, whose car is that? We've got guests at home?"
"It belongs to one of Madam's friends," he replied, standing up and wiping his hands on a rag. "She should be leaving soon. If you hand me the keys, I'll park your car in the garage in a bit."
"Thanks, Lance, really."
"No need to mention it, Madam."
Celeste grabbed her bag and walked into the house, not too curious about who Sophie's friend was. Coming from a modest background, she knew the so-called high-society ladies didn't think highly of her. Most either put on a polite act or had favors to ask-those who really liked spending time with her were mostly her old friends from before she got married.
