Chapter 12
"Get out of my sight! You're not welcome here!" Janet yelled at Heather.
"You're the ones who invited me here," Heather responded coolly.
Janet was rendered speechless. Judith had only just caught her breath, and those words made her chest ache all over again.
It was Lauren's birthday. If Heather didn't show up, Lauren would definitely chastise her again. Judith had no choice but to turn to Devon.
"Do something about your wife, Devon!"
The man lounging on the couch finally dropped his indifferent demeanor. He lifted his wrist, glanced at his watch, and said coldly, "Grandma will be here soon. That's enough."
Judith and Janet immediately schooled their expressions.
Devon rose from his seat and walked up to Heather. His tall figure loomed over her, trapping her in his shadow. His voice was low as he warned, "Remember what I told you."
