The moment Heather got home, she let out a violent sneeze.
It seemed that the scumbag couple was badmouthing her behind her back.
Her phone rang. It was a call from Esther.
Heather answered as she walked onto the balcony. As Heather bathed in the gentle moonlight, Esther's furious voice came through the phone.
"You were absolutely right! Devon really did shut the media up. No matter how much money I offered, not a single mainstream outlet or TV station was willing to report it."
Even though she'd expected it, Heather's heart still sank.
"Not even one?" she asked.
"There are a few out-of-town online platforms and some independent content creators who agreed. Luckily, this is the age of the internet. No matter how powerful Devon is, there's no way he can keep things airtight."
"That's enough," Heather said calmly.
Right now, she was nothing more than a tiny ant trying to shake a towering tree. She'd have to do it slowly, methodically.
