The morning sun filtered through the window lattice, casting scattered spots of light on the bedsheet. When I opened my eyes, the caretaker had already brought breakfast to the bedside. The millet porridge was still steaming, with cut apple pieces beside it. "Ms. Evangeline, how are you feeling today?" The caretaker's voice was soft, filled with cautious concern.
