Eleanor’s POV
Just as I finished speaking, Davis stepped into the hospital room and caught sight of his boss getting low-key rejected.
“Mr. Robinson,” he said as he walked over. Then he leaned in and whispered something into Everett’s ear.
Hearing this, Everett’s brows knitted slightly.
Davis straightened up and glanced at the hospital bed. Then he added, “Sir, her friends are here right now. Maybe it’s better if we leave for now.”
Everett’s expression hardened. His gaze lingered on Scarlett for a moment longer before he finally turned and walked out of the room.
Davis gave a polite nod to me and James before quickly following Everett out.
The moment they stepped out, I marched over and shut the door with a sharp thud.
“James, tell me the truth. You didn’t spill anything to Everett Robinson, did you?”
He scratched the side of his head awkwardly, his guilt written all over his face. “I didn’t say anything.”
“You always scratch your head and stutter when you’re lying.” I pinched his bice
