Flora’s POV:
From the way Director Robert walked out, I knew he was going to call Everett.
Eleanor raised a brow, glanced at Amelia, and let out a low whistle, smugness practically dripping from her face.
Scarlett chuckled and nudged her foot under the table. “Seriously? Of all the things to pick up from James, you pick this crap?”
“Ha ha. It’s a talent.” Eleanor stuck out her tongue, clearly enjoying the drama unfolding.
Amelia shot her a vicious glare.
Eleanor met it head-on. “What? You wanna throw hands? Let’s go.”
“You—!” Amelia was fuming, but one pointed glare from me shut her right up. Scarlett didn’t even bother looking at her.
My gaze lingered on Scarlett. A subtle frown crossed my face.
There was something about this woman—a quiet power. I couldn’t name it, but I couldn’t ignore it either. The more I looked at her, the more convinced I became: Scarlett Taylor wasn’t as simple as she seemed.
