Chapter 80
Scarlett’s POV:
At ten in the morning, Eleanor and I went to the City Hospital’s obstetrics department.
Coming out of the examination room, Eleanor hooked her arm through mine, holding the freshly printed ultrasound report and squinting at it.
“So this fuzzy blob is the baby, huh?”
One hand rested on my stomach. The nausea that had hit me since last night still hadn’t gone away. I felt drained, not even in the mood to look at the ultrasound picture.
Noticing how pale I looked, Eleanor frowned. “Still feeling sick?”
“Not exactly throwing up—just this constant discomfort in my stomach. Energy is at zero.”
“We can’t have you like this long term. You’ll wear yourself out. Let’s ask the doctor later if there’s anything you can take for this.” She sighed. “You really are a mystery. Most people get hit hard in the first trimester, but you’re just getting started now—mid-pregnancy.”
