Chapter 82
Brandon’s POV:
At 2:30 in the afternoon, the helicopter touched down neatly on a landing pad halfway up Cloud Mountain.
As the cabin door slid open, Jack hopped out first, reaching out a hand to help Eleanor.
She took it, stepping down the stairs with practiced ease, then turned quickly to assist Miss Taylor.
She didn’t seem well.
The moment Scarlett’s feet hit the ground, she brushed Eleanor’s hand away and stumbled toward a nearby tree. Clutching the trunk for balance, she bent over and began to puke.
“Scarlett!” Eleanor rushed over, gently patting her back.
Carrying Eleanor’s handbag, Jack glanced at the two of them, then turned his eyes toward the cockpit.
“Brandon, what’s up with your flying today? You made Miss Taylor sick.”
I scoffed. “Dude, I flew smooth as butter! Today’s wind is nothing compared to yesterday's. Funny how she didn’t throw up then, but today’s the day.”
I lit a cigarette, took a drag, then flicked my gaze toward Scarlett.
