Chapter 4

I went to my locker to exchange my books so I could just finally leave to go home. My old phone vibrated. ~Need a ride? - Steph texted me ~Nah, I'll walk but thanks - Talisa ~Come on, Talisa you can't walk to and from school everyday! I have a car you know! I want to drop you home. - Steph ~If I say yes will he stop bugging me? - Talisa ~ YES!! ~Alright, fine. I'll be out in the parking lot in 2 mins ~Kay, I'll be w8ting! I just rolled my eyes and shut my phone, then closing my locker. "Dammit" I swore as I fell to the floor with a thud as I tripped over my shoelace and all my books were sprawled out if the floor. I looked around to see if anyone was around to watch that and thank god nobody was in this hallway because I'd never hear he end of it if somebody did. So I tied my shoelace and then picked up all my books and organized them properly and then stood up, only to knock into a wall. A wall? What the heck? "Ooph" I grunted. "Sorry" I apologized for not watching where I was going, but then tingles shot up my arm as the person tried to steady me from falling. I finally looked up to see who it was, only to be faced with Faris Maxwell. "I-I-I'm s-sorry" I stuttered as I looked into his eyes. I couldn't help but get lost in those puddles of wonderful green as I looked into them. "Just watch where you're going next time." He said. And I nodded. The tingles were still pleasantly running up my arm as he kept holding onto it. But the only thing that came to my mind was.... "Mate" I whispered. His eyes seemed to widened at my sudden choice of words. But I looked down at his hand that was still holding my arms only to realize his thumb was now making circles in a soothing motion on my arm; and I don't even think he noticed he was doing it. He quickly shot his arm back and dropped it. "We're mates" I say; staring him straight in the face. "So?" He asks, calmly. "So that means we're meant to be together," My heart beating out of my chest. He smirks. "Listen, and you better listen very clearly. We may be mates; but I will never want you." He whispers in my ear with sternness. "I am soon to be alpha and I can't have someone like you to be my alpha female. Got it?" He finishes. A single tear started rolling down my cheek as I nodded in agreement "Good. Now if you ever mention this to anyone; I will kick out out of my pack, understood?" He demands. I didn't trust my voice so I nodded again. "Wonderful" He smiles and then walks away from me.. My wolf was crying inside. She has honestly never cried this much before, not even when my parents died, and our brother was separated from us. But I quickly held myself together as I looked around again to see if anyone could see me cry right now. Stop looking around, Talisa! Everyone already left school! So I wiped the last tear that rolled down my cheek and walked out of the school, to Stephanie's car. I made sure she couldn't tell I was crying because I don't like when people see me cry. Steph has only seen me cry a couple of times but she's the only one beside Dom and Raven. But other than that; no one in this pack our school has seen me cry because I vowed to myself that I would always make sure they never did. So as I got into the passenger seat of Steph's car; I thought about only one thing....... That my wish to have a mate that will love me will probably never come true. Talisa's POV  I woke up to loud bangs on my door; assuming it's my 'parents.' "Talisa Lynn Kirsten!! Get your ass up right now and come do the dishes!!" My mother yelled. I got up and opened the door, only to have a slap to face. LITERALLY!! "You are the laziest person I have ever met in my entire life. So now you can forget having that sleepover with that pathetic friend of yours." Raven said and walked back downstairs.  Just wonderful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Steph’s car, on the way to school~~~~~~~~~~ "Hey Steph I can't sleepover your house tonight." I said. "What?! Why?" She asked. "Raven claims that I’m the laziest person she's ever met so she said I couldn't go." I explained. "Your 'parents' really suck." She said; using air "es on the word parents. "I know" I shrugged. “So what are you going to do?” She asked me. “About what?” I asked me. “About leaving this place. Are you going to?” She asked. “Honestly, I have no idea.” I responded. “I mean I want to but I just can’t. What if I get caught, Steph?” I asked; nervous. “Nothing, cause you won’t get caught. Look; we’ll plan it out. You’re my best friend, Tallie, and trust me, I don’t want you to leave, but it’s what’s best for you, not me.” She said. I nodded. “I’ll continue to think about it,” as we got out of her car and walked into the school. So as we walked to our lockers, switched our books, and then walked to first period, Jackie had to grace us with her terrible presence. Oh and did I mention that Faris was with her. And his arm was draped around her neck? “Hey, Talisa” Jackie started. “What’s up? Still wearing those ugly clothes? I mean, I would donate to the poor and helpless, but… You’re not exactly worthy of my clothes.” She smirked. I shifted my eyes over to Faris to see if he would back me up in any way, but I was too stupid to even think that. But when I looked at him, I swore is eyes had a hint of anger in them, and I don’t think they were towards me or Stephanie, but it quickly replaced by an amused look; and then he started to chuckle.
