Chapter 6
~Talisa
I couldn’t help but tear up when I wrote this.
But I sucked it up and stuck it on the fridge where someone is bound to find it when they get hungry, because trust me, werewolves are very hungry creatures.
So I stood up straight, walked to the door, and walked out with Stephanie and then locked the front door behind us.
“So I guess this is it” Steph said; with her head down.
“Yeah, guess so” I said.
“Oh, wait! But what if someone saw us leave school?” I asked; now panicking.
“I’ll just tell them you got sick and you didn’t want to go to the nurse, you just wanted to go home. I’ll tell them that I just dropped you home and went back to school, which is where I’m going back after you leave.” She said.
I nodded. “Okay, well don’t look obvious.”
“Ha! With my acting skills, trust me, I won’t.” She laughed.
“Okay, okay” I laughed with her.
But then all the laughing died out in a matter of seconds.
“I’m really gonna miss you, girl” She said.
“I’m gonna miss you too” I said and then hugged her.
She wiped a tear from her face and fixed her hair.
“I’ll come back, Steph. I don’t know when, but I will.” I promised.
She nodded. “But don’t come back until you’re strong enough to.”
“I promise” I smiled.
“Good” She smiled back and gave me one last hug.
“Bye Talisa” She said.
“Bye Steph” I said and dropped my bag and shifted into my white wolf.
She picked up the bag and put it in my mouth for me to carry when I run.
Now the bag felt like it weighed a feather.
She rubbed my soft white fur and said, “Bye Talisa” one more time.
I gave her a wolfy smile, winked at her and then took off into the woods.
I was running so fast that Stephanie’s scent was already fading.
I kept running as fast as I could to reach the border without even sparing one glance behind me.
I was on my own for now.
Faris’s POV
After Jackie and I had made fun of Talisa in the hallway before, I felt totally guilty. After seeing the look on Talisa’s face and the tears the rolled down her cheeks, I just wanted to crawl back to her and beg for her forgiveness for hurting her like that.
But I couldn’t.
Number one; I had more pride than that.
Number two; I couldn’t have anyone know she was my mate. I mean it’s Talisa Kirsten we’re talking about here. The nerdy, smart, girl who had terrible parents, who dressed terrible and who was a loser.
‘Don’t talk about our mate like that’ My wolf said to me.
‘No. Your mate; not mine. I said.
No she’s ours you jerk! He screamed at me, but I really didn’t care. I wasn’t giving in to him.
‘Whatever’ I said and blocked him from my mind.
So where was before I was rudely interrupted? Oh right! Number three.
And number three; I was going to be Alpha very soon and I couldn’t have a weak, fragile, and vulnerable girl as a mate to be my Alpha female.
And honestly, I didn’t really want my mate right now. I enjoyed sleeping around and having fun with other girls, it’s the only piece of freedom I’ll have when I become Alpha.
But I’m not going to lie and say it didn’t hurt me a little on the inside when I rejected Talisa as my mate. But I would never admit that to anyone. And it’s too late to turn back now. What’s done is done.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The end of the school day bell just rung and I sighed in happiness as I walked out of the classroom.
“Hey, Faris, wanna go have some fun later?” Jackie winked at me and looped her arm around mine.
“I’ll think about it, Jackie” I responded, but I guess she wasn’t having it because then she spun me around and pressed her back to the lockers and crushed her lips to mine.
I wanted to just pushed her off of me because I wasn’t in the mood, but I kept kissing her anyways because if I didn’t, I’d never hear the end of it from her.
“Alright, let’s go” I told her a grabbed her hand and brought her to my car.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Jackie and I were breathing heavily from satisfaction on what we just did.
“Want another round?” She asked; trying to sound seducing while straddling my waist.
Before I even got to answer how, I heard a knock on my door. Whoever was knocking on the door was getting annoying because they were now pounding on it as hard and fast as they can.
“Faris!!” The person at the door shouted in a serious but hurried manor.
I quickly got up and tried to find a pair of clothes.
“Baby, come on, just tell them to go away.” Jackie spoke.
“I can’t Jackie, this is my duty.” I said.
“But you’re not even Alpha yet.” She whined.
“My father is sick, Jackie! He’s not that fit or healthy enough to control a large pack like this! I’m helping him out.” I explained.
“Yes, I know but—” I cut her off.
“Just leave, Jackie” I said.
“Faris”
“Just LEAVE!” I shouted in an Alpha tone and pointed to the door.
She hurriedly got up and put her clothes back on and rushed downstairs.
“Faris, you need to come downstairs, now.” Chase, my future Beta said.
“What happened?” I asked while putting my shirt on.
“You should really see for yourself.” He said and led me to the main room of the pack house.
“Chase, what’s going—” But I stopped once I saw the sight in front of me.
“We found him dead in the woods. We don’t know exactly what happened to him.” Chase said.
I still stood there motionless as I saw my dead father lying on the ground of the pack house.
“We’re sorry, Faris.” Chase said, sincerely.
“I thought there were supposed to be people watching him.” I said, now getting angry.
