Chapter Twenty-nine
Luke returns to the hospital to begin his shift when he realizes that things have changed—or so he assumes. Going about his day, he finds it difficult to engage in conversation with colleagues.
His mind was troubled, particularly by Katie's last action. He had seen her with Bobby when she freely lied that she was still at the hospital.
Everything in him affirmed that if he could have a conversation with Katie, that would mark the end of their problem. But still, a nagging feeling troubled him that something had gone wrong.
Bobby's back from Canada was not a good thing. He knew that Bobby was Katie's ex, but why they still met and chatted like nothing happened bothered him.
