Ethan stayed by her side the whole time, but his face looked awful.
The doctor was dripping with sweat, terrified something might go wrong with Clara.
Thankfully, it was just a knock — not serious.
The doctor finally let out a breath of relief.

Without sparing him a glance, she started to get up, clearly worried about her mom.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Ethan’s tone wasn’t friendly at all.
“I’m going to check on my mom,” Clara said bluntly.
“She’s fine. You should be more worried about yourself,” Ethan said, his face still dark.
That made her stop.
Then her gaze drifted over to him.
Ethan was standing there, clearly tense. Maybe it was because of her accident, or maybe something else.
Before Ethan could say a word—
Clara suddenly spoke: “Why have you been visiting my mom at the nursing home for the past month?”
