Deirdre got out of the room and asked while she walked down the stairs holding onto the handrail, “Is there a guest in the house, Brendan?” Brendan immediately walked over and helped Deirdre down the stairs. Noticing that she was only wearing a thin sweater, he removed his jacket and draped it over her. “Wear a jacket when you come outside next time. The living room is not as warm as the room.” “Okay.” Deirdre obediently wore the loose jacket and suddenly felt a burning gaze on her face. Deirdre raised her head while Brendan introduced, “Deirdre, this is Miss Collins. Miss Collins, this is my lover, Deirdre McKinnon.” Emily cracked a graceful smile, yet she was clenching her hands so tightly under her sleeves that her nails had already dug into her flesh. She had never seen Brendan being so gentle, concerned, and careful. On the other hand, Brendan behaved this way from the moment Deirdre came downstairs.
