When the plane landed, Adeline dashed off without even looking at Sullivan, who felt like he had been rooted to the floor. He tried to go after her, but his legs refused to budge. It was as if his feet had been nailed to the ground. He could only stand and watch as she disappeared into the crowd. This continued until Isabel appeared, dressed in white. She waved at him and called out, "I've come to pick you up, Sully! How was your business trip? Did you bring back a souvenir for me?" Sullivan had a strange feeling when he saw that Isabel, who had been hiding from him for a long time now, had abruptly shown up at the airport. That feeling intensified when she described his trip as a business trip and readily asked for a souvenir from him. It felt like he hadn't seen this side of Isabel since that day five years ago when he told her to leave after discovering that she had once framed Madeleine. The entire situation was uncanny, as if a shattered mirror had miraculously reformed despite
