Chapter 570
Gordon was informed that he was getting compensated as well.
Animation Gaming Enterprise was the biggest gaming company in the country and one that Anderson invested in. He was the biggest shareholder of the company.
Mayra knew about it. Many women who worked for the entertainment industry attempted to get closer to Anderson just to be the spokesperson for the games.
These all seemed too much of a coincidence.
Gordon had been bothered by the lawsuit for months, yet it ended as soon as she arrived in Candor City.
The lawsuit itself felt like someone was targeting Gordon.
Could it be Anderson?
If it truly was him, it wouldn't explain why Gordon's trial went so smoothly.
If Anderson wished to take Gordon down, he should have gone to all lengths to make sure he couldn't bounce back.
Yet, Anderson was constantly causing trouble for Gordon. Why was that?
Mayra couldn't tell Anderson's intention behind everything.
She was deep in thought, and when she snapped out of it, she glanced at Gordon to find that Sydney was standing next to him. She was glancing at Mayra in a challenging way, but Mayra didn't take her seriously.
She stood and found some instant noodles in the pantry cabinet. She happened to be hungry, so she opened it.
Mayra went to boil some water for the noodles and left her phone on the table.
When she turned around, her phone vibrated. She kept her phone on silent mode most of the time and frequently missed calls.
Half a minute passed, and the call was automatically disconnected.
After boiling the water, she noticed that the meeting had ended. She waited for the noodles to cook.
As the glass door to the meeting room opened, she could hear the three arguing over a matter of character settings.
"This is the 12th version you've rejected. You know that I hired Emma. I'm still around, yet you aren't showing her any respect. Watch how you talk to her. I don't get it. What exactly do you want? Why don't you just draw it yourself?"
"I told you that the image of the character doesn't match the setting. Change it."
"You're going to delay everyone's progress over the setting," Sydney said.
Mayra didn't care about their conflict and counted quietly for a minute, preparing for when her noodles would be cooked.
Gordon came over and turned off the stove. "This is a matter related to graphic design. Discuss it among yourselves. I'm taking her out for food."
Sydney looked at Mayra with a frown. "You do know that this is working hours."
Gordon shoved the pot of noodles into Samuel's hands. "Um… I… It's hot, Gordon."
"That's mine," Mayra said.
She could smell the noodles, and it had been a while since she had instant noodles.
"I'm claiming the break I haven't used. I'll work overtime to cover it."
Just then, Samuel noticed Mayra's phone screen lighting up. "Mayra, you're getting a call."
