She didn’t stay at the house to chat. Instead, using shopping as an excuse, she took Stella Reid out. Probably worried Jason might come home unexpectedly—or maybe she thinks I’ve got a mole among the house staff. Either way, I still have no clue what they're plotting.
But knowing Lena, she never shows up without a reason. Hanging out with Stella? Yeah, no way that’s just a casual shopping trip.
I stared at the frozen screen and slowly sipped my hot milk, the steam brushing against my face, warming my cheeks.
Henry Smith came out of the shower, dropped onto the bed with nothing but a towel around him. I ignored him and opened my design app to keep working on the competition draft.
He probably waited over an hour, and when he saw there was no sign of me shutting the laptop, he finally got bored and called out, “Hey, come keep me company.”
