Chapter 174 I'll Go With You
Nancy's bedroom was already in order. A single suitcase stood against the wall, packed with only a few changes of clothes. Tomorrow, she would return to Eryndor.
The door slammed open with a violent crash. Jonathan leaned against the frame, chest heaving and gasping for breath.
Nancy turned slowly, her face calm as she regarded the uninvited guest.
"What is it?"
Her cool, clear gaze stopped him in his tracks. All the harsh words he had rehearsed got stuck in his throat.
He couldn't understand why Nancy showed no fear of him. He was the heir of the Sullivan family.
"You—"
He stiffened his neck, trying to put on the same arrogant front as always. But when he thought of that day at the racetrack, when she had pulled him out of danger and left his ego deflated, the memory burned in his mind as the greatest humiliation of his life.
Yet that breathtaking drift she had pulled off haunted him even more. It had been too sharp, too perfect. He dreamed of learning it himself.
