Chapter 29 Who Exactly Is She
By the time dinner ended, Nancy's lips were swollen and her tongue completely numb, stripped of all feeling. Somehow, she had survived the ordeal.
Tina, heart aching at the sight of her, clung to her arm. Just as they were about to part ways with Sebastian and John, she blurted out, "Nancy, you're divorced now. Living alone isn't safe. Come stay at my place tonight!"
Nancy was ready to nod when a cold, cutting voice interrupted them.
"She's not going anywhere."
It was Sebastian. His tone was flat, as though he were stating a fact beyond question.
Tina froze, blinking. "Why not?"
He ignored her entirely. His dark eyes shifted to Nancy, threaded with faint impatience.
"Enough of your fussing. Aren't you coming back?"

Tina wondered if her ears were playing tricks on her. The tone sounded unmistakably like a husband chastising his wife for coming home late.
