After that incident, I rushed back to my rental apartment. I pulled open the drawer and took out a magazine I had kept hidden for years.
Once I found the number, I worked up the nerve and dialed it. "Hi, I was wondering if you're still looking for disabled models?"
The person on the other end was kind. "Yes, we are. But we'll need to meet in person. Would that be possible for you?"
"Yes. No matter how far, I'll be there," I replied.
