Green Williams furrowed his brows, frustration etched deeply into every line of his face. His voice, sharp and brittle with impatience, snapped through the phone line:
"Just cut it out, will you?"
On the other end, Terry Abigail froze.
For a second, her mind blanked.

Her lips parted slightly, but no words came. Hurt bloomed in her chest like a slow-burning flame.
“Green Williams, you—” she tried, her voice trembling, confusion flashing in her eyes.
But he didn’t let her finish.
“I’m hanging up. I’m in no mood to deal with this.” His voice was cold, detached. And with a curt click, the call ended.
