My body stood frozen, tremors shooting in my veins— goosebumps erupted on my skin.
Vivian’s loud and painful scream filled the air, as the gun which she held fell to the ground with a thump.
I wasted no time, swiping the gun in my hands so quickly that she barely had another opening.
Her red sharp eyes moved to me filled with so much rage and anger as she cradled her bleeding hands from where the bullet had torn through.
“Leah are you okay,” Ethan’s breathless voice came, followed by his thick strong hands wrapping around my waist.
I could barely hear his voice as the sound of the gunshot still rang in my ears.
My gaze moved past him to the police officers—the exact one who had shot Vivian.
Luckily, he shot her right before she could pull the trigger on me.
I was so close to death today.
I looked it directly in the eyes, and yet I sailed through.
But I barely had time to think of that fact.
I did not risk my life in vain today.
I needed something and hopefully I had gotten it.
