Jennifer stared at me strangely, as she snapped in a biting tone. “Why are you asking?” She watched as something flickered through my eyes, and I stared as she recollected herself, as if just realizing what she said. “I mean, yes, she is obviously me and Ethan’s daughter. After all, we are married. Ethan and Kayla share the same blood,” she muttered proudly, watching the blank look on my face. ‘Kayla,’ I repeated the name in my head, memorizing the name of Ethan’s child.
