BLUE DIAMOND
My face paled at his words, and I curled my fists tighter to keep me from trembling.
Vivian’s words flashed in my mind. She had warned that no one should ever find out about how I was treated in the Harnes mansion.
Taking in a deep breath, I swiped his hands away.
“Why are you trying to change the subject?
You almost choked me to death,” I spat.
My heart pinched when I saw him flinch at my words.
My voice sounded accusing even when I knew clearly that I had practically begged him to do it, but this was the only way I could get him to drop the talk about the mark.
I knew I was the one who instigated him to do everything even after he had begged me not to.
I knew talking about another man in his presence would make him act irrationally, and yet I still did it, because I wanted to see how far he could go.
“Are you scared now, Leah?” He hissed, his gaze fixed on me.
I ignored his words, moving to pick up my bag lying on the floor, while making sure the box was still hidden from his sight.
