Alejandro's POV I had had enough of blood. I'm worn out from running. I'm sick of waking up with my hand beneath the pillow, constantly reaching for the gun I vowed never to touch again. I kept telling myself that this little house on the edge of nowhere, Camila's laughter, and the way her belly grew every day, like a slow promise, were all signs of peace.
