Chapter 128
Camilla’s POV
It was too quiet in the hospital room. There was nobody in Emiliano's bed.
I gazed at the spot where Emiliano had been, noting the pillow perfectly positioned for his small head and the cool sheets still folded. The machines, with their constant beeping, were harsh, rhythmic reminders of life's purpose. However, he wasn't.
Reaching up to brush back his soft curls, as I had done a thousand times before, made my hands shake. "You're going to be fine, my love," I whispered. Mama is present.
However, the bed was empty when I briefly turned around to get his favourite blanket.
I went cold.
Then, with my heart pounding, I leapt to my feet. "Emiliano?" My voice broke the silence.
No response.
A wave of panic swept through. I dashed into the corridor. My gaze flitted from side to side. Nurses went by, either too busy or uninterested.
"Pardon me! Please! I grabbed a nurse's arm as she hurried by and sobbed. " Where is my son? Emiliano has vanished!
