ALEJANDRO'S Pov
My hands were hot and trembling in a cold room. I watched the clouds engulf the remaining daylight as I stood by the broken window. The sky seemed to be warning me. Or perhaps I was imagining it. I knew what was coming anyway. It wasn't going to be pretty either.
I had no time to waste.
Downstairs was Camila. Her pacing was audible to me. When something was gnawing at her brain, she would always pace. I detested that noise. It meant she was thinking about him once more, not because it was noisy. Hey, Luis. El Diablo in human form.
I walked down, two steps at a time, after pulling my jacket's zipper up.
When I intervened, she looked up, her jaw clenched, her arms folded.
She remarked, "You've been quiet."
I retorted, "You've been avoiding me."
"Perhaps you deserved it."
"I most likely did. But I'm not here for that.
"So, why are you?"
"Camila, because we're short on time. There will be something soon.
Her eyes narrowed as she cocked her head.
"You say that all the time."
