LUIS VEGA'S Pov
The air was heavy, as if it were about to storm. I located her where I knew she would be: by herself, attempting to conceal her secrets in the shadows. Camila. Her wide, fearful, and, more importantly, defiant eyes met mine. Her tight jaw and rapid, shallow breathing gave me the impression that she wanted to run, but she remained motionless.
I stepped closer and said, "You don't get it, Camila," lowering my voice to the point of a growl. "I own you."
Like she was trying to get rid of a terrible dream, she blinked. "I'm not yours. I wasn't.
It was like a slap. My jaw tightened. Stubborn. For you, that was Camila. Always resisting, always fighting. I enjoyed that type of fight. However, this was not a game. No longer.
I took out my phone and turned it on without saying anything. The glow filled the tiny space, shadowing her face. "Take a look at this."
