Catalina’s pov
The night felt colder than I had anticipated, but it did the kind of cold that seeps into your bones and stays there forever. It was quieter than usual in Santiago's office. Too silent. The silence conveys the imminent threat.
He had already begun to wait. There was no greeting or smile. His piercing gaze appeared as if it could cut through any material.
