Alejandro's POV
I was the first to hear the news. The city was on fire. There was an attack on Camila's safehouse. Santiago's cartel was rapidly approaching. My heart pounded with urgency. After grabbing my equipment and putting on my jacket, I took off running. Smoke curled like snakes into the black sky, and the streets were in a state of chaos.
Why was the situation the way it had to be? I vowed to protect her after everything I had experienced. Everything was falling apart now. I bit back the panic and tightened my hold on the steering wheel.
They believe they can shatter her. They believe it's too late. I am unknown to them.
