Chapter 1 Nicholas POV “Mum, this is not making sense. How do you expect me to stay with a girl alone?” I snapped at her, my voice rising. She sat on the bed like everything she was saying was perfectly reasonable. “Nicholas, this trip is very important to us. And her mother doesn’t want to leave her alone with her brother. Since you’re still at home, you two can stay together. It’s just a two-week trip. We’ll be back before you notice.” I groaned, my jaw tight. “How can she not want to leave her with her own brother? They’re siblings.” “Nicholas!” Mum called sharply, but I wasn’t backing down. There was no way I’d accept this. I’d rather leave the house and let the so-called girl stay here alone if she wanted. “Fine, anyhow you want it, I’ll leave the house,” I muttered, turning to storm out. Her next words froze me in place. “You’ll get the PC set when I’m back.” I stopped mid-step, my legs stiff, my chest tightening with temptation. She knew exactly how much I wanted that gaming PC.
