The next day, Zayden Greene rapped his fingers heavily against the carved wooden armrest at the Greene residence. The dull thuds echoed through the room.
The cup of coffee before him had long gone cold—much like the look in his eyes as he stared at his son.
"The Sanders called me this morning," he started. "Caleb has three broken ribs. He's still lying in a hospital bed."
He slammed a newspaper down in front of Asher. "Did you do this?"
Asher stood straight-backed. His lips curled into a faint smile.
