Chapter 55

The next morning, the mist was still hanging over Elderford when a black Maybach with a Navalton license plate pulled up at the end of the cobblestone road. Zachary was wearing a well-tailored dark gray suit as he stood by the stone bridge. Mottled ancient walls and dark roofs could be seen behind him, yet they did nothing to suppress the noble and cold air emanating from him. He looked quite out of place in this little town, but strangely, the two contrasting elements blended to create a sort of tension. That was the scene that greeted Juliet and Ariane when they came out. "Zach." Juliet walked a little faster, her forehead glistening with a thin layer of sweat. Zachary turned around, his gaze falling on her flushed face. However, his gentlemanly and restrained gaze didn't linger for long. "Please, there's no rush. I just arrived myself." Lifting his wrist, he glanced at the time, speaking in a gentle tone. Juliet gave him a small smile. "Let's find a place to sit and talk."
