Chapter 77 Butter Me Up
The morning air was cool, but Louisa's neck was warm with Elijah's breath as he leaned against her. Who would've imagined that the high and mighty Elijah could have this spoiled, childish side to him?
Louisa felt a flutter in her chest. The sensation lasted a split second, and Louisa wasn't quite sure what to name it, but she couldn't bring herself to shove him aside. Facing toward the east, she saw the dawnlight dying the sky a stunning red, as red as… blood.
Something flashed before Louisa's eyes, and she drew back the hand that she had been gripping his clothes with.
"Elijah," Louisa called.
"Hmm?" Elijah's low voice made him sound like he was really about to fall asleep.
"Don't try to butter me up like this. I'll do whatever I can to help Letitia wake up again." Louisa's voice was taut as she mentioned her name. She tightened her arm around Elijah. "Got it?"
She spelled her thoughts out clearly in a way that he couldn't pretend not to understand. "Elijah, you married me
