I continued to say a lot of things, but Gabriel never responded. When it appeared he truly couldn't hear me, I slowly quieted down.
It seemed I had simply been overthinking it. Gabriel couldn't actually sense my presence; it was likely just an illusion that manifested whenever he thought of me.
Upon arriving at that conclusion, I decided to just guard him silently. Without that mysterious force tugging at me, it was not like I could go anywhere else anyway. At least staying with Gabriel was much better than having to look at Lucas' face.
The next day, I was still at the hospital.
