Chapter 88
I wasn't sure what exactly I was feeling. But there was a voice in my heart that told me that whatever the case was, it didn't matter anymore.
Regardless, it was enough that Nancy had cared for me. We weren't related in any way, and I never expected someone with no obligation to care for me to do so wholeheartedly.
Gabriel received a phone call from the police the next day, telling him that they'd recovered his limbs and had reached an unexpected breakthrough. He immediately left for the station. Nancy tagged along with him.
Nancy's hand trembled along the way, but she said nothing. Gabriel and Andre weren't in the mood to speak at all, either. Both had grim expressions on their faces.
When we arrived at the police station, I discovered that Gabriel wasn't the only one there. Lucas and Nathan, as well as my birth parents, were there too. Roxanne was present as well. She was crying while leaning against Yvonne, forcing Yvonne to focus on consoling Roxanne and nothing else.
