Chapter 6: Teaching a lesson
First of all, she didn't spend a penny for herself except for the necessary living expenses of Blue Moon Pack in the past three years. As for the living expenses and other fees that Blue Moon Pack gave her, when she went to Blue Moon Pack, she had returned them to Ethan through that check.
After the details, the group photos of Ethan and Katie were released, and the screenshots of all kinds of flaunting and humiliating messages sent by Katie in the middle of the night, indicated that wolfhore was not Della. Instead, she rejected Ethan because she couldn't bear to see Ethan betray her and cheat with her.
In the end, photos of Heidi hanging out in bars and nightclubs were posted. Heidi even had sex with vampires and hunters, regardless of the fact that she might become a deliberate person to attack the loophole in the Blue Moon Pack. She was irresponsible to her own pack.
Della’s statement was simple and powerful. Different from Heidi who made up a story without any evidence. It directly revealed that it was Katie and Heidi who had been slandering her.
The public opinion turned around in an instant.
The furious members of the Blue Moon Pack even stopped at the door of the Gordon Group, demanding their Alpha to retrieve their Luna and not to destroy the stability of their Pack.
Things went out of control.
"That bitch, Della!" Heidi yelped.
She just wanted to teach Della a lesson, but she didn't expect that Della would ask someone to secretly take so many of her photos and send them out to the public which made Heidi’s reputation decline. She used to pretend to be weak and incompetent. She should have kicked her out earlier!
Her scandals were being dug up by the werewolf society, and even her dark history was spreading among the vampire and Hunter circles. The reputation of the Gordon Family had been affected.
Members who were unhappy with Heidi's behavior gathered outside the villa of Gordon Family to confront her about her actions. Some even held a demonstration outside with a sign demanding Ethan to evict Heidi.
"She's only fit to be a rogue! A bitch like Heidi can't stay in our pack!"
"Go find your vampire and hunter concubines, bitch!"
Heidi was so scared and angry that she stayed indoors all day. With no ready-made food available and no way to order take-out, she became very hungry and attempted to cook for herself. However, she almost set the kitchen on fire and ended up smoking herself out.
"Della!" Heidi called out in distress, while hiding in the bathroom. Eventually, she panicked and called Katie for help.
"Katie, I didn't say anything and followed your words. Now, I have been attacked by everyone! You have to help me, or I will really be ashamed to look anyone in the face! And..." Heidi said to Katie pleadingly, “ please bring me some food. I am hungry!”
"Heidi, don't panic. I'll handle it,’’ Katie replied.
Katie hated Della so much that she gritted her teeth. Her clarification not only ruined Heidi's reputation, but also her wolfhore status. The kind-hearted image she had worked hard to maintain had been destroyed.
In order to become the Blue Moon Pack’s Luna, she had to find a way to retrieve her reputation, and also to comfort the stupid woman, Heidi.
Heidi was greedy and selfish. If it weren't for Ethan's favor, Katie wouldn't care about Heidi's life at all.
Hearing Katie's words, Heidi was relieved. At the same time, she said with resentment, "Della is really a bad woman. Do you have any other way to deal with her? She dares to embarrass us. I must teach her a lesson!"
Katie echoed immediately and sneered, “Don’t worry. I have another plan.”
...
On the other hand, Ethan had just finished an important transnational meeting, and returned to his office tiredly.
This meeting involved the future of multiple packs. Even the Alpha King had attended it, so he didn't dare to be distracted at all.
"Haven't you found her yet?" he asked Melvin irritably.
"Luna has been out of touch since the phone call last time. All our unilateral transfer has been refunded by the bank. Luna has canceled all the accounts we know,’’ Melvin replied.
Ethan was stunned.
He was sincere in making it up to her, but Della refused him so easily, even at the expense of closing her bank account. Did she really not lack money, or did she hook up with other rich men?
Ethan's eyes were full of hatred.
It didn't matter if it was the former. If it was the latter, Della wouldn't take him seriously.
"It's none of her business concerning how the money got to her. It's my business whether I give it or not,’’ Ethan snapped.
He didn't want anyone to say that he was a bad man who was mean to his ex-mate.
Melvin smiled awkwardly.
"But we can't get in touch with Luna at all..." he emphasized.
"Why can't you get in touch with her? Don't you have her phone number?" Ethan asked.
"I don't know where Luna is now. The only private number she left is powered off, so..." Melvin replied until his voice derailed.
Ethan's face changed slightly. It suddenly occurred to him that during the three years of their marriage, Della had never been to the building of the Gordon Group, and she had never contacted him casually in the past. As a result, the people around him hadn't left her emergency contact information at all.
A strange feeling came to his mind. Was it because he had ignored Della too much before?
"Alpha, maybe you can try to mind link her?" Melvin suddenly suggested.
Ethan glared at him and he immediately shut up.
If Ethan could mind link Della, they wouldn't have looked for her so urgently, right?
Why didn't she mention it?
Ethan didn't say anything. With a long face, he took out his phone and searched for Della’s contact in an online messaging app's address book for a long time.
Looking at the few words in the dialog box, he found that Della had sent them, but he never replied. He couldn’t remember whether he deliberately ignored them or he just didn't care.
In a subtle mood, he flipped a voice application to the other side. He thought that it would take a while for someone to answer it, but he did not expect that the other side would answer it in a second.
Before he could feel proud of himself for the woman's care for him, he heard the cold voice of Della from the phone.
"Ethan, you are really something!" she said with an upset and dismissive tone.
"In the past three years, I've been working hard for Blue Moon Pack. I've never complained to you, and I've been very kind to you. Now that I've returned every penny you spent on me. I just want to break up with you. But you don't even want to give me this peace. Do you really think I can be easily bullied?" Della ranted and asked.
Della's words made Ethan frown.
"What do you mean by that? I just wanted to give you some form of compensation. I didn’t mean to harass you,’’ he replied worriedly.
"You asked someone to spread a rumor that I want a huge amount of compensation from you, and at the same time, you pretended to be innocent. Alpha Gordon, as the Blue Moon Pack's Alpha, don't you feel ashamed to be so double-faced?" Della asked.
"What are you talking about?" Ethan enquired.
"The Wolf-book has been a mess. Even your pack members downstairs of the Gordon Group are defending me. Why do you still pretend not to know what I am talking about? Do you take me for a fool?’’ Della asked, still yelling.
"What?" Ethan barked. He realized that something was wrong. He beckoned his assistant to find out about it immediately and resorted to explaining subconsciously.
"I have just finished a cross-border meeting that lasted for three hours. I haven't had time..." he told Della.
"Do you think I will believe you? Ethan, before the next full moon night comes, I hope you behave yourself! I have many photos of you being intimate with Katie in private. You don't want me to make a scene, do you? If you piss me off, I won't let you go even if it means that I would sue you in front of Alpha King!" Della replied harshly.
After saying what she wanted to say, Della stopped beating around the bush with him and directly hung up the phone, also blacklisting Ethan.
