Aaron didn't answer Sierra right away.
He gazed out the window at the drizzling rain, his thoughts bringing him back to the past.
Those seven years of marriage were filled with both happiness and suffering. However, they all came to naught in the end.
"I would think so. I might have some regrets, but I no longer love her."
The dishes they had ordered arrived one after another, and the conversation gradually lightened up.
Aaron and Sierra chatted about their alma maters, shared some interesting anecdotes about work, and discussed the books and movies they liked.
They momentarily forgot about things like corporate intrigue in that tiny diner—they forgot about the troubles they would face tomorrow. For now, they were just ordinary customers, enjoying the delicacies set before them.
It stopped raining right after they finished eating.
Sierra suggested taking a walk to digest the food. She said, "There's an old street nearby with great sights at night."
