Reagan asked, "Kicked out by your man?"
Giselle stayed silent.
Reagan snorted coldly.
Giselle muttered, "I didn't go on my own."
Reagan looked up, his deep gaze fixed on her. "What are your plans today?"
Giselle said, "First, I'll stay with my daughter while she gets her IV, then… we'll see."
Reagan asked, "When you divorced, did you want custody of your daughter?"
Giselle nodded. "I did, but Gavin definitely won't give up custody easily. He'll fight me for it. I want my daughter to choose me on her own, but…"
She trailed off.
Reagan frowned. "But what?"
Giselle shook her head. "I've discovered something, but I'm not sure yet. I need to figure it out."
Reagan nodded. "If you need help, just say it. Mr. Simmon can help."
Giselle felt a little uneasy. She thought Syme lacked social intuition.
She understood that Reagan was only willing to help because Syme was his bodyguard. She and Reagan weren't related in any way—there was no reason for him to help her.
