After his anger subsided, Gavin took a deep breath and leaned back in his ergonomic chair. His whole body sank into it, as if he were trapped with no way out.
That was exactly how he felt about Giselle now—no escape, no solution.
Their relationship remained stuck in that stalemate and was frozen in place. They couldn't go on like this forever.
When Gavin reflected on what Chantelle had told him calmly, he could hardly believe Giselle was that kind of woman.
If she were truly capable of seducing her attending doctor, she would have begged for mercy the day she was sent to the psychiatric hospital.
He turned to Chantelle. "Bring me the attending doctor. I want to see him tonight."
Chantelle's smile slowly faded, and she asked quietly, "Gav, do you think I'm lying to you? That I made this up?"
