He took a sip of his bitter coffee before saying, "You can go, Chantelle. I'm afraid things are going to be a bit hard on you for a while."
Chantelle placed a hand on Gavin's shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. "We've been friends for years, Gav. I don't want you stressing yourself out over such trivial matters, so I'm willing to stay and lend you a helping hand."
Gavin patted Chantelle's hand and said, "I know."
She smiled and added, "Seeing you and Poppy happy makes everything I'm doing feel extremely worth it, Gav.
"We're good friends, so please feel free to talk to me whenever you're feeling down. I'll be here whenever you need me."
