Chantelle didn't even go that far. She merely brushed her tongue hesitantly against Gavin's lips.
He suddenly snapped out of his trance before everything escalated. He pushed Chantelle away, causing her to fall backward. He frowned before reaching out again to pull her back.
Chantelle had gone completely drunk after the brief chaotic moment. She leaned against him and did not move.
He scooped her into his arms and walked toward the Whitman residence.
Giselle kept staring at the two people behind the rockery. They seemed like a pair of lovers who had been torn apart by a witch in some tragic romance.
Unfortunately, Giselle was the witch. She watched as they disappeared into the distance.
Gavin held Chantelle carefully, like she was a fragile treasure that might shatter at the slightest touch.
