"Look at this—tell me she's not Elena! I mean, come on, how can someone look this much like her if it isn't?"
The man speaking had been out on a fishing trip, just trying to unwind, but by sheer chance, he stumbled upon the girl. Though he was close enough to the Wakefields to have mourned Elena right alongside them these past three years, he couldn't shake what he'd seen. This wasn't just someone who looked like her. He watched that kid grow up—he was sure it was her.
Why on earth would she pretend she's not?
He'd rushed to Matthew and Claire's place right after. He'd seen how much losing their daughter had crushed them… so if there was even a chance—he had to tell them.
